I’ve been working in music since 1998 and quite early on, I realised that I favoured thicker picks, gradually gravitating towards gypsy Jazz type ones, for both electric and acoustic guitar styles. (I teach guitar so have to play a variety of styles of music).
There’s been something always missing with my picks over the years and I think that was the thick pics that I used were able to play speedy lead lines, but once a good one I needed to play warm sounding chords or more syncopated funky rhythms. The closest I ever got was to play lead with Gypsy Jazz picks and then to switch to lighter pics for more rhythm section passages.
I saw the advert for these pics and the look of them fascinated me with the shape where the thumb goes looking inviting.
I took the plunge and ordered a pack of 12 and I haven’t looked back.
From the moment you grip them they feel just good. The accuracy and sound is really even and right, but a little sideways manoeuvre and the same pick will also give you more mellow tones and also; a lighter timbre for strums.
The control is just excellent and the weighting perfect. Whether you are playing Randy Rhoads or Django Reinhardt, I can’t recommend these enough.
