Where to Buy AttakPik in the UK: Now Stocked at Absolute Music

August 2026 3 min read Acoustik Attak

You can finally hold one before you buy it

Until now, buying an AttakPik in the UK meant ordering online and trusting a photograph. That's a strange way to buy a pick. A pick is the one piece of gear you judge with your fingertips before you judge it with your ears, and no product page has ever solved that.

So this one matters: AttakPik is now stocked at Absolute Music in Bournemouth — one of the UK's longest-running music superstores, and not with a token two models. The full range went up on the wall.

Why a shop matters more for a pick than for most gear

Most gear you can evaluate at a distance. Specs tell you a lot about a pedal, a set of strings, a pickup. A pick resists that, because two of the three things that make it work are tactile.

The first is the grip surface. Whether a pick stays put in your fingers when your hands are damp forty minutes into a set isn't something a photo can show you. You find out by holding it.

The second is body size and footprint — how much material sits between your fingertips, and how close the tip ends up to the string. Players routinely discover that a problem they'd filed under "technique" was actually a pick that was the wrong size for their hand. That takes about ten seconds to diagnose in person and months to diagnose by mail order.

The third — tip geometry — is the one you genuinely have to hear. Which is the other reason a shop is the right venue: there are guitars plugged in and demo booths on site. Take a pick off the wall and ask.

What's on the wall

AttakPik is built on two tip systems, and they solve opposite problems. Knowing which one you're after cuts your browsing time on the wall in half.

  • Beveled Apex — a curved, beveled edge that glides across the string and releases fast and clean. This is the speed and lead answer: tremolo, alternate picking, fast metal rhythm. The Stealth Series lives here.
  • Ridged Tip — raised structures across the tip that add drag as the pick crosses the string, producing bite, harmonic content and a percussive edge. This is the grip-and-texture answer, not the speed one. The Ridged Tips range lives here.

Choose the system by the sound you're chasing first, then choose the body size by what fits your hand. Getting that order right is most of the decision.

One practical note, and it applies to every dealer we work with: shops stock to their own customers, so an individual store isn't guaranteed to carry every model in the line at any given moment. If you're making a trip for something specific, it's worth a phone call first.

The people who actually did this

Diego Fiorillo and Marc Haynes at the Attak Pik display in Absolute Music

Diego Fiorillo, who runs AttakPik's UK and EU operations, and Marc Haynes from the Absolute Music guitar department. Retail placement is not a glamorous process — it's months of samples, barcodes, product data and label sheets that nobody outside the two companies ever sees. Every pick on that wall got there because these two worked through all of it.

Not near Bournemouth?

Nothing changes for online orders — UK orders still ship from our UK hub, and you can browse the full range online as before. If you'd rather buy in person and Dorset isn't practical, our dealers and stockists page lists authorized retailers by country.

And if you run a shop and want AttakPik on your own wall, email support@attakpik.com — wholesale pricing, marketing support and display materials are all part of it.
