Ryan “Sir” Malone is a Washington, DC-based professional guitarist, recording ar>st, and
music director with over 15 years of experience performing and recording across R&B,
Gospel, Rock, Soul, and Jazz. A graduate of Berklee College of Music, he has performed
na>onally and throughout the East Coast with various ar>sts and bands, including his
current group, Femi and the Founda>on. The band’s most recent album “Wrong Side of
the Sun” won Rock Album of the Year at the DC Music Awards. His live performance

Culture, Blues Alley, and Keystone Korner, as well as performances with ar>sts including
Tim Bowman Jr. and JJ Hairston.

Ryan Malone’s playing is heavily influenced by guitarists such as George Benson, Isaiah
Sharkey, Jimmy Page, and John Mayer. While he values strong technique and
musicianship, his philosophy is that tone is equally, if not more, important than chops.
He puts a lot of >me and energy into developing his sound and finding tones that inspire
him to play. Whether on stage or in the studio, his goal is simple: find the right sound,
serve the music, and make every note count.
